Unbeatable Bread

Autumn, and Ellie and I did our traditional session of mess bread making!
Leaves, berries, twigs and other chaos from the wood in the back garden, to inspire the shapes applied to the loaf… a sticky bread dough… 30 minutes in the oven and you’ve got an Autumnal brick …feast.
Not quite as simple as soda bread, but a tasty piece of art nevertheless.

If you’re doing a unit on bread making (perhaps the QCA unit) it is always useful to have some background information.
Try these two sites for starters:
Shake(speare) Rattle and Roll!

A while back I reported on a band named Army Defense that recorded a song for each country in the world. Really useful for geography or World Weeks. (Well worth a look if you didn’t catch it before)
Instead of taking a rest, the folks at Army Defense decided to swiftly move on to their next project. Stratocaster Upon Avon presents us with a song for every Shakespeare play and sonnet (that’s 42 tracks!).
Again, the guys cover every possible sub-genre rock has to offer and even pay tribute to Hamlet with a rap. The album is available completely free for download, and is really quite impressive.
Sign of the times…9
Saw this sign in a garage forecourt “conveniences.”
Does make you think:
a. how careful one needs to be with the English language
b. what you could ask for in life!

As well as our events, we like to share interesting, and more often than not, FREE tools, resources and ideas, some old, some new, and we hope you might find something useful. We'd love your thoughts. Tim & Sarah
