St Andrew’s CEVA Primary School, Northampton

St Andrews North 002Today we are at St Andrew’s CEVA Primary School in Northampton, joined by colleauges from two neighbouring schools, Thorplands Primary School and Lumbertubs Primary School.

It is good to spend some time with folk looking at ways of using computers as a tool when inspiring and motivating children of all ages and abilities. We investigated the use of computer games as a stimulus but also, MANY other resources and methods.

“Web 2” tools mean that children can interact, not only with the internet but also with each other in creative ways that have an impact on confidences and standards. We enjoyed an opportunity to look in to elements such as Wordle, QuotePad, WordSift, EtherPad, Wikispaces, Bambuser, Qik, Cueprompter, ReadTheWords,TagGalaxy, ooVoo, Twitter, Prezi, VoiceThread

The hands held aloft in the pictures below, are where we travelling onboard The Hogwarts Express and chatting away to our fellow travellers about what we might apply when we get back to Hogw… school. 🙂

We also referred to searching by extensions in order to narrow down your research and find the things you really want. Follow THIS LINK  for some hints.

Thank you to ALL of the staff today for some fun, laughter and imaginative thinking!

re tesco’s mag/dvd ripping. the mag is called webuser, it’s 27.08.09 issue (issue 221), i don’t know how frequently its out. £2, the 45 free (and presumably legal!) downloads this issue includes the dvd ripper and a programme to rip just the bits u want of a dvd, obviously staying aware of copyright as the mag goes to great lengths to point out.
    hope this helps
