SIRikt iPad workshop, Kranjska Gora, Slovenia

| April 16, 2011 | 1 Comment

More fun to end this trip to SIRikt in Slovenia. We did another iPad workshop today, and our first go at doing it ALL via the iPad itself. It worked! A presentation in Keynote and popping out to show the different, creative, apps that our delegates could try, on the iPads in the room – and all went smoothly.

We are very grateful to Louise Devos from iFactors Pro in Holland for sorting out an iPad2 and VGA cable as we passed through Holland for the IPON event. It meant that were able to mirror all of our preparations and presentations, on the iPad AND the big screen.

A lovely, cosy, fireside, storytelling atmosphere pervaded the room. This was only shattered by lots of laughter and music, as people made, created, and explored, all through the iPad touch screen.

The free apps included: phyzios sculptorLlet’s create Pottery HD, Voxel, Geared, RJ Voyager, Sylo Synth, Mixxmouse dj hd, Retro Sound Studio, Beatwave, Groovemaker, Music Studio Lite, Epic Citadel, Color Effects… and more.

Viljenka Savli, teacher of English, teacher trainer for IWB, Moodle and international projects

Amela Sambolic Beganovic, senior consultant for mathematics at National Institution of Education, the head of team for intearactive whiteboard in national project E-education

We our participating the ‘Hand Held Hands On’ workshop for the co-workers of the national E-competent school project, within the annual education and training plan.

We invited Tim Rylands and Sarah Neild from GB to run a workshop using the iPad for educational purposes.

We met Tim and followed his amazing presentation in Copenhagen and London and decided to invite them to our international conference SIRikt 2011 and to our annual meeting of the project co-workers. Luckily enough they found a free weekend and joined us.

When announcing his workshop on our portal it was booked in less then two hours.

About 30 participants today enjoy in special journey Tim is taking us through the virtual world using mythical story Citadel by creating different parts of the mystical story using powerful iPad free apps.

The time flew too quickly and all of us would like too “play” on and on, creating, and using our imagination.

Thank you Tim and Sarah you made a difference not only in the conference events but also in our hearts and minds. We believe that you feel the same and there will be chances to go again on journey with you two in near future.

Thank you Vili and Amela for your kind words. We have really enjoyed ourselves in Slovenia, and look forward to coming back again…soon.

    Dear Tim and Sarah,
Thanks for lighting up our our minds and hearts with your humor, passion, creativity and team spirit. Sparks from yesterday’s plenary and workshop with you guys are making me smile as I type this. Our journey to wonderland was refreshing – a most appreciated reminder of how invigorating it is to relax and set your imagination free and of how this can work fabulously constructively in a group context such as a class.
    Cheers from a picpocket’s wife. 😉
