Brislington Enterprise College, South Bristol eLearning Partnership

Thank you to Catherine Cains, eLearning Partnership Coordinator, at Brislington Enterprise College, Bristol, and the South Bristol eLearning Partnership for a special all day INSET event today.

Two sessions with pupils, and colleagues, from schools across the partnership, were a joyous exploration in virtual worlds, and worlds of words.

We started with some Year 2 pupils, and followed that with some travels with a group of Year 7s. After breaking down what had happened in both journeys, we spent some time, with the teachers, exploring other resources that can be used to motivate, and inspire, children of all ages, and abilities.

We ended the day, with a 1 hour twilight session which investigated Web 2.0 Tools, and a fast paced journey through the varied and plentiful resources that you can find on the web. More to follow, soon…

    Hi Tim,
I attended the twilight session this evening & I wanted to thank you for some inspiring thoughts, tools and a generally great session. I’m Humanities based and I have come away with a whole load of ideas that I’m going to start using tomorrow. I’m also studying for my Masters in T&L at the moment, so the QuotePad site you showed us is going to knock hours off of my assignment writing! Thank you so much, can’t wait for the next one.
    Kate

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback Kate
We’re glad you found some useful resources
Yes, Quotepad should be a great tool when studying
Good luck with everything and let us know how you get on
    All the best for now

  3. Hi Tim,

I attended the morning session and the evening session and found them both fascinating and thought provoking. I really liked the idea of using a game (Myst) to get the kids thinking and using their imagination to describe what they thought an object was or what might be at the top of it.

Web 2.0 tools also excellent although rather a lot to take in, in one go, so will check the link and go through them slowly, one by one.

A fantastic time and 4 hours or so of my time well spent, thank you.
