Mentimeter is a quick, and free, way of gathering thoughts, and opinions, from an audience, or class.

An easy-to-use web-based tool that enables you to create questions, collect answers and show the results in real time.

Go to the start page, type your question.
Add your choice of answers, & you’re done.

Your audience vote using their smartphone. When the user goes to in their mobile web browser they are asked to provide a Vote ID. The question will be displayed in their phone together with the choice at hand, letting them vote without too much effort.

When all/enough votes are in, you can present the results. The presentation view has several different themes for you to choose between and is automatically updated when new votes are received. If you want to hide the results when the audience is voting that option is also included. You can also control the time a vote is open.

Give it a try, if you can, and let us know how you get on.
