The Winter House – An Interactive Mystery

| September 20, 2012 | 0 Comments

The Winter House, is a deliciously mysterious short story, in digital form, set in a country house school in which you take the part of Millie, whose father has been murdered.

Whilst it includes game-like interactive elements, it is nonetheless a single narrative with a third-person narrator. The visualisation of the story gives the words centre-stage – a text-based retelling, rather than simply an animation.

The Winter House, as well as being a good story, might be a useful teaching aid around issues of women’s equality in the early 20th century, a topic in both History & Citizenship.

This story was commissioned by Booktrust as part of the Story campaign, and is supported by Arts Council England.
