Lego Digital Designer is a thoroughly engaging opportunity to experience 3D modelling and design.
Build your creation. Rotate it. Explore different properties from all angles. This could be useful, in class, as a demo, of wheel movement and alignment for example. Or, your students can investigate design principles before the need for 3D printing.
Whilst the program is FREE, Lego make their money by giving you the chance to buy the blocks you would need to make your creation for real. You do not have to however.
You might decide that a child with special “needs” deserves an encouraging reward. Other than that, there’s no need for the design process to incur any charge at all. A potentially powerful & free tool.
Have fun, … and remember ~ there is not even the need to pack away your blocks when you’ve finished! Enjoy!
