Inspire2Learn, Middlesbrough ~ 2.2

| October 18, 2013 | 8 Comments

Today we had the privilege to work with 45 teachers at the extremely well-equipped, and organised, ‘Inspire2Learn‘, a unique resource for all schools and Academies across Redcar and Cleveland. The centre is managed by schools for the benefit of all learners and teaching staff with resources available for all.

Thank you to Carl Faulkner, head teacher of Normanby Primary, for inviting us back to this remarkable venue and joining us on some wondrous explorations, of digital and analog domains.

Schools joining us today were Normanby Primary, Brambles Primary, Deaf Hill Primary, Bankfields Primary, Galley Hill Primary, The Avenue Primary, Whale Hill Primary, Hutton Rudby, Willowfields Primary, Lockwood Primary, Ormesby Primary, Badger Hill Primary and St Peters C E Primary.

The word “Teacher” is, perhaps, too one sided. How empowering it has been, to investigate learning opportunities, with teaching staff who are up for, and open to, “learning” themselves.

We got deep down, and practical, in some group challenges. Technology to support story telling. What special talk happened today. The sound of these folk, discussing how they were going to tackle these challenges, was truly gorgeous.

Experiencing what it is like to be set a time related target, and work as part of a team, can give us a clearer understanding of some of the difficulties, complications, fulfillment and satisfactions, that go with such an activity. And, provides the chance to have a bit of a laugh!
