Amherst Primary, Guernsey ~ the rollercoaster return

| March 24, 2014 | 0 Comments

Joyous to be back in Guernsey, and Amherst Primary School, for a fast paced day with children from Amherst, and Vauvert Primary School.

We set forth on the ride, a few times, each time trying different responses: on our first journey we screamed our way down; the second descent found us inventing short pithy little phrases to sum up our emotions; the third time we created a percussive a soundtrack to convey our feelings!

We thought about howsimile, metaphor, personification, alliteration, and many other devices, can help to bring a world alive.

Technology helped us record our experiences, in some interesting ways. Garageband and iMovie enabled the recording of different tracks for each section, alongside a film of the rollercoaster round the island with death-defying leaps & crazy turns & stacks ~ we zoomed through doors & up steep inclines before crashing into the sea. The children reacted & discussed ideas or feelings in some imaginative and inventive ways.

Thank you again to Tracey Moore, Head Teacher at Amherst Primary School, for hosting our day.
