Ysgol Gymraeg Casnewydd ~ Day 2

| April 11, 2014 | 5 Comments

A second day at Ysgol Gymraeg Casnewydd, this time with the staff, looking at a vast amount of digital delights to bring learning even more alive.

What we shared today fits so well with the school’s ethos, and ways of working, already. We experienced some of the confidence, sense of humour, and imagination, of the children yesterday. Carrying out lessons, both in English, and Welsh, is a superb way to develop written, aural, and oral, dexterity. We looked at a huge range of tools that can be used in developing that word play, thought juggling, and imaginative inventiveness.

Thank you to Ceri Parry,- Deputy Head, at Ysgol Gymraeg Casnewydd, for organising our visit, & sharing her thoughts:

Mae ein hysgol yn fwrlwm o greadigrwydd!  Rydyn wrth ein bodd yn annog y disgyblion i ysgrifennu’n estynedig trwy eu trochi mewn gweithgareddau Drama, Athroniaeth i Blant a defnyddio ffilm a cherddoriaeth i ysgogi ysgrifennu.  Rydyn ni nawr mewn man lle yr hoffwn ddefnyddio T.G.Ch mewn modd ehangach er mwyn sbarduno’r dysgu hyd yn oed yn fwy.  O ganlyniad i hyn rydyn yn edrych ymlaen yn fawr iawn i groesawu Tim atom i gynnig dimensiwn newydd cyffrous i’r addysgu a’r dysgu sydd yn digwydd yma.

Our school is a bubbling pot of creativity!  We love nothing more than to inspire extended writing through Process Drama, P4C, and through the use of film and music.  We are now in a place where we want to further enhance our teaching and learning of Literacy through I.C.T, and we believe that Tim holds the key!  We have been looking forward to welcoming Tim to our school so that he can offer us a new and exciting dimension to further enrich our teaching and learning.

Ceri Parry, Dirprwy Bennaeth Ysgol Gymraeg Casnewydd ~ Deputy Head, at Ysgol Gymraeg Casnewydd
