The peaceful landscapes we explored are from the game series Myst. We use Myst III- Exile and Myst IV:Revelation from the series.

You might want to try Epic Citadel, a peaceful medieval landscape, to wander through, on your iPad.

Panoramas are a fantastic way of immersing children (or yourself) in a different location, and a superb tool for stimulating discussion in children of all ages, and abilities.

Over the years, we have frequently pointed folk in the direction of www.panoramas.dk a great site, full of resources that you can use as a visual stimulus, a huge and glorious collection of landscapes, and experiences.

It is important to not forget to take the time to stand still.

In each QTVR (Quick time virtual reality) Panorama, take your time and write or discuss – before you even think about moving. It is that first movement that creates a bit of magic when using these with children.

Lunapic is well worth a deeper investigation than just the first page. It is a very easy to use image manipulator. Both fun and useful.

There are many, many different effects that you can add to your image.

I have heated up the Lunapic logo, and the two lads, from one of our events, to the right, are really reflecting on their work. Old movie scratches, rotating cubes of a few images, or even let your image be struck by lightning! The end results can be exported as gifs.

Nothing can beat getting your children’s work out into the world ~ a real audience, real purpose, and real feedback. Here are two articles, written for Junior Education Magazine, on the art of Blogging, and the basics of Podcasting. Maybe setting up a blog is your “one thing to do”?

Once your blog is up and running, maybe investigate contacting David Mitchell (@deputymitchell) about Quadblogging, and getting assigned to a group of four blogs – a Quad, peer-power.

Twitter is such a powerful tool ~ superb way to find links, information and the latest changes in the world of learning. Here’s a quick guide on Twitter for teachers. A few of the people we referred to include @dughall, @kvnmcl, @xannov, @deputymitchell. There are many more… (We are @timrylands and @sarahneild)

A couple of classes worth investigating: @giraffeclass, @classroomtweets.
