Working all over the world

Tim worked alongside schools, teachers, and children of all ages and abilities, developing and sharing ways to enhance the curriculum …and have a huge impact on standards. His training days, keynotes, or seminars, were paired up with the chance for people to see him in action with groups of students.

“The sound of laughter as my staff tackled the challenges with Tim was priceless!!
Now the children are at it too!”

Tim was much in demand for seminars, conferences and training days around the country, presenting the results of his work in an inspiring, practical and often humorous way.

His used of immersive worlds, in a variety of computer games, form just one part of his many innovative ideas for developing writing, visual literacy, speaking and listening skills, music and much more, in children of all ages and abilities.

Tim worked with schools and authorities on extended projects – for example: to improve boys’ writing skills. He delivered many professional development days around the U.K. including demonstration lessons for large groups of educators.

“Firstly, Tim can do it. But, importantly, he also knows how to help, motivate and guide others to do it themselves, and with great success”

His sessions in schools involved practical hands-on experience, for teachers and support staff, looking at many different ways to motivate, inspire and enliven the curriculum. This was often paired up with the opportunity to watch Tim working with a large group of students – a chance to see the teaching styles in action.

Tim presented keynote speeches, seminars and workshops at such events as BETT and many regional and international ICT and Literacy conferences. For many years Tim and Sarah travelled the length and breadth of the UK, and around the globe.

The word “teacher” is too one sided.

We need to inspire young people and fire their imaginations; enhance their creativity and confidence so they can pick ideas up and start to juggle with them; encourage resourcefulness through challenge, but also the ability to reflect, change and benefit from the experience of others; to motivate a love of learning for life.

Fascination is a tool that can be easily neglected. This digital world, when mixed with the analogue, brings such potential for communication.

In this goal driven age, we could think that education is imparting a body of knowledge, rather than a shared journey of discovery. There are so many pressures put upon educators these days that enjoyment, inspiration, creativity, and fun can be forced out of the classroom.

Tim had a vast experience of delivering entertaining, enjoyable, funny yet utterly practical sessions across the globe. They were far from normal…

His presentations were the furthest you can get from little black writing, bullet points and rea-ding-ev-er-y-thing-out. There were visual, stimulating and utterly unique, giving people many, many things to take away and apply immediately.

Have a look at an example HERE“Instead of telling you, Tim shows us… magically”.

Tim’s excitement and passion for teaching and learning has inspired thousands of teachers.

The major part of Tim’s work was in REAL settings. Hands-on training sessions with all staff, using, and creating, relevant, engaging resources, to motivate, and enthuse, children of all ages and abilities. Be inspired and leave with many practical ideas to apply back in the classroom.

He oofered insprational ideas for:
• writing
• integrating technology
• motivation
• inspiration
• curriculum design
• standards
• behavior
• enagagment …and more?

Tim’s skills, experience and award winning methods, worked from foundation stage through to upper secondary; from special school, and special needs children, through to the gifted and talented.

He didn’t’t just talk about it. He did it.

Tim mixed practical hands-on advice with demo sessions (with up to sixty students at a time, and all teaching and support staff mucking in) giving the chance for people to see ideas “in action”, “for real” “with real children”, modelling a way of teaching, where quality learning is the focus rather than the latest gadget; ‘what is said, rather than what is used to say it’.

Tim had taught for many years, and went on to teach thousands of children around the world. He used his experience to ensure that everyone felt supported. He was a master at helping every level of experience – from the technically nervous, through to those wanting “Challenge me”! Everyone left his sessions with many new and magical, valuable and applicable ideas and inspiration.

Tim’s content was practical, achievable, long lasting and effective.

Almost all of what Tim shared with people is FREE, open web tools, games based learning elements, practical strategies, and more. All of these can be taken away and applied in the classroom, immediately and over an extended period, to have an impact with children of all ages and abilities. All without any additional expense.

Online support was provided after every session.

Fed up with leaving an event with reams of paper you’ll never look at again? Would you rather “be there” than sit, head down, taking notes?
Tim gave links, digital help-sheets, (and access to the mysterious Locked Page, which contains more useful stuff than you could shake a stick at) for each event.

Tim was constantly updating and keeping on top of developments, opportunities, better tools, and improved resources. Up-to-date and ever changing, yet with a constant drive for things to have a solid, applicable, accessible, relevant impact in the classroom.

Fun AND effective

As well as showing a huge, and accessible, range of ways to engage, and motivate students of all ages, and abilities, Tim reinforced how these elements are not only essential for quality learning experiences to take place, but how they can also have a massive impact on standards, achievement… and enjoyment!
